I can’t just pick one! Probably a tie between Tech N9ne at the House of Blues Los Angeles and Porter Robinson at ID Fest in San Diego. Tech N9ne was my favorite rapper in high school, and his performance was just so raw and exuberant; unlike any rapper I have ever seen. Porter may be the greatest producer in my eyes (check out his albums Spitfire and Worlds), and gave us fans such an intimate concert at ID Fest. Second place goes to Swedish House Mafia’s last show at the Los Angeles State Historic Park and Gesaffelstein at Coachella.

As of now, Israel and China. I cant wait to continue traveling the world and exploring new places!

My name is Aaron Rafael, also known as DJ Rafi! I have been in love with music from as early on as I can remember, and it has become one of my greatest passions in life.

I decided that I wanted to become a DJ at the age of 14. My friend and I put in our money together and purchased DJ speakers, an auxiliary cable, and headphones – that was it! We used a DJ software on my laptop and slowly learned how to properly DJ. Shortly after, we began DJing small events such as friends’ and families’ parties. After a few events, we had made enough money to expand on our equipment, and began doing bigger events. After a few years, we had all the skills and equipment necessary – we were pros! We would DJ a wide spectrum of events such as house parties, bar/bat-mitzvahs, cultural parties, engagement parties, weddings, school events, college events, corporate events, bars, clubs, and many more.

After high school, my friend and I parted ways (in regards to DJing together, but we are still amazing friends!) as I went on to UC Irvine. At UCI, I was able to flex my DJing muscles and put them to good use. I joined the fraternity Alpha Epsilon Pi, and was the lead DJ for all their events, as well as other greek events, college events, and I had residency at a bar in Newport Beach! I eventually became the DJ for the UC Irvine Men’s Basketball Team, which was an incredible experience.

Upon my graduation from UCI, I came back to the Los Angeles area and was given an opportunity to meet the VOX DJ team. I instantly felt at home when I joined their ranks, and they have taught me how to improve upon my skills, and learn new ways to better myself in the world of music and DJing. I feel that with all my previous experiences, training, and passion for music, I can create a unique, energetic, and euphoric atmosphere that portrays my personality, and therefore cannot be matched.
